CNSS supports tourism sector, extending sectorial aid until end of March

Morocco’s National Social Security Fund (CNSS) said it will provide support to tourism sector workers, as part of the government’s special aid fund for the management of the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, according to a recent press release.

The tourism sector was among the country’s sectors that have been hit the hardest, following the closure of air borders for an interrupted 22 months in total since 2020.

CNSS stated that this financial support will involve registered accommodation establishments, travel agencies approved by the government authority in charge of tourism, registered tourist restaurants, and tourist transport services for individuals authorized by the government authority in charge of transport.

Additionally, temporary contracting companies working for the tourism sub-sectors, signed before the end of February 2020, will also benefit from the aid.

This measure also applies to tourist guides, holders of the professional cards paying taxes on their activities, or those who are subscribed in the register of auto-entrepreneurs and insured by the CNSS under Law 98.15 instituting medical coverage for the benefit of workers. non-employees.

The support will also include those who have not previously benefited from the fixed allowance, provided that their situation is regularized and their working documents are renewed before March 31, 2022.

CNSS also called on tourism actors who need further information to contact the “Allo Damane” center, the Fund’s press release concluded.

Recently, the Ministry of Tourism opened channels to identify tourism establishments eligible to receive MAD 1 billion in financial assistance, in a move to boost tourism services nationwide.

The government also approved a prior emergency plan worth MAD2 billion to support the tourism sector as a means to bounce back from the negative effects of the pandemic.
